About Us
We live on the Chambers Family Farm that was established in 1875. The farm at one
time consisted of 160 acres on Farley Road, and 80 acres that extended over to
Chambers Road. "Chambers Road" was named after the family farm because of the
land on Chambers Road that they owned. Although they had land located on Chambers
Road, the farm house and barns were and still are located on Farley Road.
The farm house was originally next door, North of where it is now. That home burned in
a grass fire. In 1912, the kitchen of that home was salvaged and rolled down with horse
and logs to the existing location. The Chambers family purchased a Sears and
Roebuck kit for $800 and added that on to the kitchen.
Keith's great-great-grandfather, William, started the Chambers farm here in Pinckney.
He farmed for a living, growing crops and establishing an apple orchard. The animals
they raised were cows, pigs, and horses for work. After he passed, his son John T took
over the farm. He carried on his fathers work and he was also the director of all the
country schools in this area. In 1912, the same year they built the new farm house, John
T had a son Clifford. Clifford was a wonderful man that carried on the farm after the
passing of his father. Times were tough for farming during his reign on the farm so
most of his income was from his job at a factory in Brighton. Clifford and his wife Alma
raised their 3 sons here on the farm and remained in the home until both of their
passings. Keith and I purchased the home and have been working to rebuild the farm
and carry on the name.
Keith and I would dream, when first married, about owning the farm and fixing it up. We
lived next door and had a trail leading to Keith's Pappy's farm where we went often to eat
grandma's country dinners. After the passing of Keith's Pappy, and a few months later
his grandma, Keith and I were given the opportunity to purchase the home from Keith's
uncle. We jumped on the offer! We lived with my parents for about 6 months and
completely gutted the home to stud and rebuilt the inside. The outside took a complete
overhaul too, including rebuilding the old barn. (Keith's Pappy would be proud of what
we have done). Many, many hours and sweat went into our farm and work still continues
on....
There is so much to offer here for children that a few years after living here, we decided
to have 2 more children totalling 4. Still wondering if we should have more kids, God
gave us a vision of having more children to share our home with. But, having more kids
was not what you thought, instead God gave me the desire to help take care of other
peoples children as if they were my own.
Our Family

Keith works as a Head Custodian for the Pinckney Community Schools, where he has
been for over 20 years, and he was recently elected to be on the Putnam Township
board serving as a trustee. Getting out of work at a reasonable time each day allows
him to do his third job and his true passion...farming. He loves to work the land. Our
sold it as a family uptown Pinckney. In time after trying many various types of sweet
corn, we have found the seed that has made us known as having the best sweet corn in
town. From there, Keith started leasing land to farm hay, field corn, and our newest
adventure is our Chambers Family Farm Pumpkin Patch and Petting Farm that God has
greatly blessed. Keith also loves to have animals on the farm to raise and sell for meat.
I have been a stay at home mom for 15 years. For 3 years, when my older 2 children
started school, I worked at Farley Ele and Navigator schools as a Special Needs
Assistant. My last year of working there I was hired through LESA as a Communication
Technician. I handled the communication devices used by some of the special needs
students in Pinckney. I left that job that I really enjoyed to have my 3rd child. I also
worked coaching Poms at different levels which lasted for 11 years. I coached the JV
and Varsity Pinckney High School Teams, I started and coached the Pathfinder Pom
Team, and I coached the HCAA Little League Pom Team. After my 4th child was born, I
hung up my Poms. My children are involved in the Livingston County 4-H program. I
have been our club's administrative leader for 7 years. Our family truly loves being
involved with this wonderful program. Currently, I own my own Preschool and child care.
I have owned and operated my in-home child care for 3 years and just opened another
another building next door. God has put a desire in my heart to love and care for
children that can not be with their parents. I am currently working on completing my
CDA, Early Childhood Education Certificate, and my Associates Degree in Early
Childhood Education. I truly love what I do!!
Our son has a love for raising animals. He has a dairy goat herd that he has worked
hard to develop and improve on. This spring he has started a goat share program that
is very valuable for people, in providing them the opportunity to have raw goats milk,
which is very healthy for many reasons.
God has blessed our family and we are greatly humbled.
