Research has proven that there are endless benefits for children playing outdoors. Children are spending more time that ever indoors playing video games, watching television, and surfing the Internet, causing them slowly to lose touch with nature.
BREAK THE CYCLE! No video games, No television, No Internet, Just good wholesome fun!
This Centennial Farm is located in Pinckney, bordering Howell and Brighton and is a working farm that has been in the Chambers Family for six generations. The private, country setting has a charm about it that makes families feel welcome and safe. Summertime is a time where the farm comes alive. Campers with happy faces explore the property, connect with the farm animals, and participate in fun, kid-friendly activities.
Once our campers have settled in each morning there is work that needs to be done. Yes, you guessed it. It's chore time! A farm doesn't run itself. Campers will learn the work that is involved in running a farm which includes; milking, collecting eggs, feeding & grooming animals, cleaning stalls, and pulling weeds in our garden.
When chores are complete, children will engage themselves in an activity that is based on the week's theme. In the afternoon camp activities are planned based on the camper’s interest. They may include; pony rides, basic horse care, sports activities, crafts, animal handling, hay rides, archery, pellet gun target range, cooking, and much more. One of the campers all time favorites is hanging out at our camp area in the woods and exploring nature, catching frogs in the pond, and cooking over a camp fire.
Upbeat and creative camp counselors look forward to spending time with your child / children this summer and making memories that will last life time!
