Summer 2012
We are excited to kick off another great summer at Down on the Farm "Farm & Nature" Summer Camps! We have many hands on experiences and challenges that will keep you active and having fun.
Items to bring each day:
Please bring a back pack with: a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, a towel and swimsuit, water pull-ups (if needed), and a change of clothes. Bring a lunch with a drink and 2 hardy snacks for the day. Add an ice pack in your child's lunch to keep it cool. School aged children will not have access to heat up anything in their lunch. Please label all items. If we need to give medicine to your child please make sure to fill out our medication form and provide the medication in it's original bottle with your child's name on it.
Daily Schedule
Each day our campers will have plenty of time to spend with the animals on the farm by doing chores in the morning, learning how to take care of them and handle them, and just hanging out in the barn. Our weekly camp themes run for an hour each day, while our traditional camp activities will take place at different times throughout the day. These activities include; sports activities, games, crafts, hay rides, horse handling, rowing a boat, fishing, archery, cooking, Native American activities, nature discovery, gardening, hanging out near the pond, and much more! We will brush up on our reading and writing skills daily with our campers. Our trips to the Howell Pool will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 5:00. Field trips are on Fridays and we will leave in the early afternoon.
Our Tots on the Farm Program will take place outside where we will do an activity based on the weeks theme. Visiting the barn and feeding the animals is part of our program each time we meet. We will have a few visits this summer from Ms. Teri and her Kindermusik Program. Each Family is welcome to stay until 1:00 and have a picnic lunch with their child, visit the barn, and play.

Our 2 Locations
We have 2 locations where we run our summer camps. The first is on the farm on Farley Road and our second is an extension of our farm on M-36 near Buschs Grocery Store. When registering you will need to specify which location you would like your child to attend. Our Tots on the Farm Program is being held only at the Farley location.
We will be using the LETS Bus Transportation to transport our school aged campers every Monday to the other location so they will be able to experience additional opportunities that we have to offer. Wednesday will be our "Wacky Wednesday" where all of our school aged campers will attend the Farley Road location for a fun filled day (if your child attends the M-36 location you will need to drop off and pick up your child at the Farley location on this day).
Weekly Field Trips
Our school aged children will be taking the LETS Bus on Field trips each Friday. This is a great opportunity for them to see new sites together! We will also be able to offer swimming by taking the bus to the Howell Aquatic Center every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. An additional fee is required for these trips. It is not mandatory that the children attend these field trips!
